Dalston House: A fascinating 3D installation by Leandro Erlich

4th of July 2013– By Tim

Commissioned by the Barbican as a part of the London Festival of Architecture 2013 the internationally recognized Argentinean artist Leandro Erlich has created a 3D life-size installation in East London: the “Dalston House”.

The film-set-style project reflects a late nineteenth-century facade of a Victorian terraced house that lies on the ground with huge mirrors specifically positioned at 45 degrees overhead.

The reflection of the house in the mirrors along with the creative interaction of the visitors create amazing visual impressions of people scaling the building, falling of it, standing on or suspended from the building vertically.

The project will be at 1-7 Ashwin Street from 26th of June until 4th of August accompanied with talks, live performances and workshops, it definitely worth the visit.
