In the spring of 2014, a Buckinghamshire client came to us with a brief to handcraft a traditional frame and panel kitchen.  The project would involve specification of appliances as well as bespoke cabinetry in keeping with a Victorian era family heirloom.  When it soon became clear that the finish and detailing required was like nothing we had produced before, our Master Craftsman jumped at the opportunity to embark on a truly unique piece of wood working.

The century old piece of furniture, acquired in 1900 by an ancestor of the client, was crafted from solid oak paneling with exquisite inframe style doors.  The defining feature was the pyramidal dentil trim adorning the front and side panels.

Our workshops sprung into action, crafting a sample door to match the client’s exacting specification.  The central detail was fashioned from a Bur oak panel as featured on the original piece.

The overall effect was completed by the application of a light walnut stain to give the appearance of an older wood.  Increation were even able to source exact replicas of the contemporary japanned hinges and door pulls.
