'A Day in the Life…Interior Designer'
1st December 2010 (All day)
_

This week Increation's Interior Designer, Tom Phillips, tells us about a general day at Increation.

6.15am: The alarm goes off, but I snooze until 6.30!

6.45am: After a quick shower, a round of toast and a morning coffee to wake me up.

8am: Today I am off to our client Ann’s house in Mayfair for our third design session. Designing with my clients is one of my favorite parts of the job; visiting clients homes and bringing out their creative side. Seeing them get excited about the changes and improvements we can help them make to their home. Through every step of designing we make sure we not only understand what our clients like, but how they live and who they are, this makes a real difference.

11.30: I head back to our offices and workshop in East London for our weekly team meeting. Working in the same building as all our cabinet makers allows us to work closely together to create unique solutions for our clients. We have a catch up and run through all the projects to ensure everything is to schedule.

2pm: Back at my desk, I start to write up my notes from my meeting with Ann and work on the drawings for her project so that next time we meet we can look at them and double check all the decisions we made. Then I book appointment with our supplier for next week so I can take Ann to hand pick the veneer for her kitchen.

4.30pm: Charlie our Marketing guru has arranged a phone interview for me with an editor who wants to write a piece on our last project. So I grab a quick drink of water, pull out all the drawings and paper work related to the project so I am fully prepared.

5.30pm: It’s Friday today so I finish a little earlier than usual to make my way over to Central London as I have tickets to see one of my favorite bands!

All in all - a great day!

'Bathroom Design: Working Out What You Want'
19th September 2010
_

When it comes to bathroom refurbishment in London, the range of choice facing you is astounding. But with so many options to choose from, it can be easy to get distracted and for your finished bathroom design to suffer.

To avoid being dazzled by impressive -- yet wholly unsuitable -- bathroom suites and systems, you are well advised to work out the rudiments of what you want and need ahead of time. For example, you will not need a jacuzzi bath with umpteen jets if you are a household of strictly shower only people. Similarly, while bidets can add extra sophistication to a bathroom design, you are just wasting money and space if you have no intention of using one.

On the other hand, it is not often that we renovate our bathrooms and this is your opportunity to inject a little luxury. Bathrooms are hardworking rooms where you prepare for the day ahead and then for sleep afterwards, but they can also be your sanctuary. Make yours a personal retreat where you can truly relax and enjoy the best possible start and end to each day.

Help your bathroom design consultant by ruling out your definite no-nos, listing must-haves and making a note of anything which has caught your eye that you would like to discuss further. This will make your time with them more productive and aid them to create the perfect bathroom refurbishment in London for you. Try organizing your thoughts under three main headings:

Products

What do you want in your bathroom? Perhaps you have a hankering for a wetroom, a sunken tub, a steam shower or a free standing bath? Have you seen any suites you like? If your bathroom sees a lot of traffic you might need twin basins and large towel rails in your bathroom design. If you have lots of lotions and potions then you’ll need cabinetry too…

Placement

Where do you want things to go and how much space do you have? Do you want the bath under the window, the towel rail next to it? How much room do you have to play with? Top interior design companies offering refurbishments in London can formulate creative bathroom designs, whatever your space limitations.

Personality

What style do you want to achieve? Do you want a bright fresh look, or a luxurious, decadent feel with sensual curves? Colour, lighting and finishing touches will all contribute to the ambience of your finished bathroom design.

To make sure you get the most out of your new bathroom, now is the time to start thinking. With careful forethought and a reputable company offering refurbishments in London, the bathroom of your dreams can soon be yours.

'Gallery Opening'
1st June 2010 (All day)
_

We have just opened a gallery on Fulham Road. With a showcase of handmade furniture and intelligent designs this gallery gives you the opportunity to get up close and personal, so you can see the detail and quality that goes into Increations bespoke furniture. Also partnering with DeParma, specialists in 20th century furniture, the gallery creates a perfect balance of design and elegance, which shines inspiration to any visitor.

The opening celebration was beaming with close friends, clients and design professionals making it the location of distinct array and hospitality.  Besides the sassy stirred Mojitos and delicious canapés that roamed the gallery over the three night launch, it really was serious business presenting our first of many to come galleries.

Though our success did not start nor does it end at the showroom.  Going from strength to strength we are now trading internationally and are forever being featured in leading homes magazines as their interiors continue to be in a class of our own. Whist at the leading edge of interior design, we always ensure a personal touch to each and every project with Vincent Cullane, the founder and creative director, continuing to be an integral part of the company.

247 Fulham Road, London, SW3 6HY.

Open Monday – Saturday 10am – 6pm.

This project was one of a kind. The client had hand picked a design from one of Increation’s previous projects. The design was then further tailored to compliment the client’s space and interior. Secondary to this, Increation integrated a sliding glass door at the entrance of the kitchen and extended the solid oak flooring to meet perfectly with the original. The kitchen design incorporated a tablet shaped Zebrano island unit with curved doors and the veneers meticulously aligned at each join creating a seamless finish.

To compliment the unique styling of Zebrano, Increation added a black granite worktop, renowned for its durability and perfectly suited to this family home. The satin lacquered handless furniture, integrated appliances and the bespoke mint glass splash back ooze sophisticated living. Increation are one of few that offer bespoke glass in limitless colours. We give the flexibility to our clients and will match any colour of choice – bring in your favourite mug and give us a challenge
