Paddy and Bruce’s Luxury Chiswick Bathroom
Bruce and Paddy came to us with a very unique request. They wanted a sanctuary in the form of a luxury bathroom to be built in the very top of their 4-storey home.
Bruce, a musician, and lovely wife Paddy, a therapist who spends her time collecting stories and taking individuals on pilgrimages, wanted an extension in their roof which would be a place they could call their own.
Phenomenally successful individuals, parents and world explorers they wanted an environment where they could be at peace and fully unwind with no interruptions.
The full extension took 18 months, due to having to jump through every council and planning hoop anyone could imagine, but it resulted in the most incredible space the couple could have hoped for.
TO HELP WITH THE NUMBER OF ESSENTIALS THE COUPLE HAD WE CREATED A MAMMOTH STORAGE UNIT HIDDEN IN THE CURVE THAT REPLICATED THE SHAPE OF THE BATH.
To create a sense of true elegance in the space we designed a floating vanity unit in Macassa with two sinks and wall mounted basin taps, opposite which we built an exact matching dressing table for Paddy and Bruce with lighting built into the mirrors – so every day was special.
The bathroom has under floor heating throughout and infrared sensor lighting with low-level lights for late night visits to the room.
The floor is made from Welsh slate, while the bath area is covered in purple glass mosaic from Italy.
With music playing such a big role for the couple we installed music players throughout the room, including the sauna with ceiling speakers to allow the sound to help create whatever atmosphere they required.
They requested a sanctuary and this was exactly what they were given.
